Welcome to John Oliver Photography, an easy to navigate site where you can browse my photographic collections. I specialise in wildlife, animal and plant photography with a particular emphasis on birds.

Based in the city of Glasgow on the West coast of Scotland, I am just a short distance from some of the best natural and managed environments for wild birds in all of Western Europe. Providing the perfect backdrop for a rich tapestry of birdlife to be photographed in their natural habitat.

Capturing unique moments in nature is no easy task; involving a massive investment in time and fieldcraft, not to mention lots of patience. However, the pleasure in sharing the results and showcasing nature at its best makes it all worthwhile. Recently, an example of my work (shown on the right) has been awarded a highly commended in the 2011 BWPA (British Wildlife Photography Awards), the image shows Orange Tip Butterflies during their mating ritual.
